#127: My Derailer Needs Adjusting

don't slipStrange one.

Started out talking innocently enough about the Today Show segment, being a stay-at-home dad when the camera are not rolling, today being tax day, which means I’ve had to come head to head with just how little I make a year, and the one day I actually talked to another parent at the park and Princess T. almost breaks her back.
In part two I explain the devastating depressive spiral I had to edit out of the show. Listen, the truth is, I’m just trying to get through the next 25 minutes.

Hudson and I adjusted the front derailer on my hand-me-down bicycle. You know, every once in a while, you really need to adjust your derailers.

I also read a segment from my upcoming best seller.

Check out “7th Son: Obsidian” and the Comedy4Cast parody of The Bitterest Pill called “The Sourest Grape.” Excellent stuff, you’ll like it.

Check out the article about J.C. Hutchins and Scott Silger at Blogger and Podcaster audio player (look for the file called Fiction 2.0), or read it on-line.

This show is currently only available to Premuim Pill subscribers.

Haven’t listened to the episode yet (stuck at work) – but was able to sneak away and listen to “The Sourest Grape”.

It was terribly funny! And you know what they say Dan, mockery is the sincerest form of flattery. Or something like that!

As always – this addict needs his weekly Pill fix :)

Hi Dan, I just wanted to say that I loved the piece that you read from your book! I will definitely buy it when it becomes a bestseller. Also, the Sourest Grape was very funny–Hudson was terrific, as usual.

Finally listened to the episode. Most of the episode was standard Pill goodness. However, I agree with “Ann McL” – I love the piece from the book.

I can’t wait until you publish it! I wonder if some hand picked stories from the podcast would have a good synergy with what you’ve already written for your book…

    Groundhog Day…
It’s sad that I totally related to all of that.
I’ve done 16 years at home so far.
Last time I coded a game was 12 years ago.
I have yet to meet a stay-at-home dad ‘in the wild’.
By that I mean in my day-to-day life.
It was still a decent piece on The Today Show, considering.
Really looking forward to the book.
I don’t have it in me to write one.
It will be great to be able to say “Here, this is what it’s like, read this”.
Even though I know what we do is significant and important, it’s tough because it doesn’t pay.
And when one does not get paid, one does not get the respect that comes from that.
I don’t do it for financial reasons.
The reward is not something money can buy.
    All worthwhile things are difficult.
    Groundhog Day…

I also loved the book segment, will be getting it when it comes out. I am writing my PhD thesis at the moment, so I know how hard it is to sit and write even a paragraph.

You bald bastard! It’s SIGLER, not SILGER. Just like you to give me a plug, then hide it from my endless vanity searches so I can’t find it …

FORGIVE ME, DARK OVERLORD! NO DISRESPECT WAS INTENDED! IT WAS A TYPO, I ASSURE YOU MY LORD. IT WON’T HAPPEN AGAIN..

Man, I’m so hooked on NOCTURNAL it’s sickening.

Was pretty uplifting to see your book in Borders, right out front and center. Sweet for all. Congrats to you.
